First Lady,

Evangelist Jacqueline H. Thomas

Evangelist Jackie Thomas was born in Washington, D. C. and is the second of four children born Willie and Carrie Hudson.  She is married to the Pastor Roy D. Thomas and together they have four adult children, and eight grandchildren

As a faithful member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Alexandria, Virginia for more than 30 years she worked to enhance the spiritual development of the membership of Mount Pleasant.

Accepting her call to the ministry in 1976, Evangelist Thomas began her teaching ministry, first as a Sunday Day School and Vacation Bible School teacher, then as Bible Study Teacher.  With a desire to see new converts equipped with a firm foundation in Jesus Christ, Evangelist Thomas developed and implemented the New Members Orientation Training, “Basic Christian Principles.”  Further, seeing the need to unite the woman of the church, Evangelist Thomas had a vision to start a Women’s Fellowship Ministry.  With the support of the Deaconess Ministry, her vision was manifested, and more 20 years later it is still one of the strongest, and most vibrate ministries of the church.

Evangelist Thomas served Mount Pleasant as a Deaconess for more than 20 years, and was the first President of the Women’s Fellowship Ministry.  As an “Evangelist and Teacher” in the Body of Christ, Evangelist Thomas, continues to mentor and inspire others through Preaching, Conferences, Retreats, Seminars, Workshops, and Gospel Theater.  In addition, Evangelist Thomas for more than fifteen years was actively informed with the Prison Ministry conducting bible studies and special programs for the inmates at the Arlington Jail, and the Lorton Prison before its closing.

In October of 2002, Evangelist Thomas joined her husband at the Heritage Fellowship Church in Reston, Virginia.  Where she taught in the HFUCC Bible Institute and worked with the women’s ministry.  She currently serves with her husband at the Nazareth Baptist Church in Washington, D.C., where she trains new members, teaches Sunday School, and works as an assistant in support of Pastor Thomas in all areas of ministry.

Evangelist Thomas is the Executive Director of Grace Evangelistic Ministries (GEMinistries/GEM), a ministry dedicated to preaching and teaching godly principles through bible studies, conferences, workshops, retreats, and GEM Theater Productions where she writes, directs and produces Christ centered plays.

As an advocate for higher education Evangelist Thomas earned her Bachelor's of Science in Biblical Studies at Lancaster Bible College graduating with honors where she continues to pursue her Master’s of Arts in Leadership and Ministry.  Further, she attended classes at George Mason University working toward a Arts Management and Entrepreneurship.

Evangelist Thomas believes that the greatest fulfillment and achievements in life is to reach mankind for the glory of God through any means necessary.  Her favorite scripture is Psalm 139:1-3, “O Lord, You have searched me and known me. You know when I sit down and when I rise up; You understand my thought from afar.  You scrutinize my path and my lying down, and are intimately acquainted with all my ways.”  With this scripture in mind, Evangelist Thomas lives her life knowing that, God is watching.
